Friday, I'm in Love

After a week of stress, anticipation and feeling rundown, everyone woke up (albeit at 5:30am)today in wonderful spirits. We have all been a tad tired (even Nate took his nap sleeping on the floor next to his bed...apparently too tired/cranky to make it all the way into his bed!). We're so ready to enjoy the warmer weather this weekend.

Lewis had a health assessment at the pediatrician's this week- we're working on figuring out why he has such a minimal weight gain. He's just not that into his food still. I tried peas this week but the taste was too strong (my best guess since LJ pursed his lips tightly every time the spoon got near his lips). So we went back to sweet potatoes; and every time he starts to crank a fuss I try distracting him with one of those loud, noisy shaker toys. Two teaspoons is the most he's been able to tolerate. His current stats are: age - 5 months ::: weight - 14 lbs ::: height - 25 inches

Meanwhile, this blog is so good for my soul. We're passed the hardest stage (I hope) and onto where Lewis is beginning to react (especially when I eat his toes and fingers!) and smile a lot more often. So this really feels like a new start. Goodbye gray winter and hello to all my flowers emerging from the ground! Nate is such a great helper (most of the time) with LJ. He has been re-purposing things (Josh's belts, the turkey baster, you name it) into stethoscopes and syringes lately so that he can help "check Noodles' tube".

As for the bread chronicles, we did bake challah again and it's a good thing because I polished off the last piece from the other week just yesterday. We're enjoying the fruits of our labor. The loaves turned out much bigger and fluffier. We'll try and post some pictures later. TGIF.
