Very pretty. Nothing is blooming up here in Boston though. Frozen rain and snow in the forecast the next couple of days. Winter is reluctant to loosen its grip in these parts.
When I was a kid in Alexandria, they used to tell us that we'd get in big trouble if we picked a dogwood flower, since it's the state tree. We were really scared . . . thought we'd go to jail or something!
Gorgeous! We are still in winterland here in Winnipeg (our backyard pathway looks like a very poorly maintained ice rink and the snow is all granular and ugly looking) so I will enjoy your flowers from afar. (High today is perhaps 25F,which seems like a heatwave.) At least it is sunny. Did you know there is such a thing as snow mold? Yup. Another thing to be allergic to as it melts. Yuck.
To answer UJ's question, I DID once pick dogwoods, Virginia's state flower, from the backyard and got really in trouble when Didi and one of her friends found out. It was worse than being arrested!! Love, Aunt Joanne
